My WI result (31st May 2007)

Very pleased to announce a 2lb loss this week. That means I am now 17 stone 10lbs, having lost 109lbs in total. I now also have 6lbs to go to my holiday target and with 3 weeks to do it, I think I can achieve it. I'll be helped on by the fact that Tasha, one of the other clerks and myself are going to really go for it this week as she has had a bad few weeks and wants to get back on track.

It is my birthday on Monday but I am still going to work very hard to lose 3lbs to take me to 8 stone lost in total. It definitely means a trip or two to the gym and swimming pool this weekend.

Check out the picture. How good do I look? It was taken at work at 0655 so not surprisingly I look tired but WOW!!!

For those of you who have wondered where I have been online, it's been mayhem here and my server is down to update my weightloss challenges site. I will try and get it sorted this weekend I promise.

WI result (24th May 2007)

Very happy to report another 4lb loss this week. I am very happy with this because I have worked hard to get that. I brought a top to wear out next Saturday night and when I tried it on a fortnight ago it showed my side bumps. I'd decided that half a stone should do it and I've lost 5.5lbs since then so hopefully it will be ok for next week.

It means I have lost a staggering 107lbs (7 stone, 9 lbs) and now weigh 17 stone 2lbs. Of course, there is still a very long way to go but I feel a lot happier now I know that every stone will make a difference.

It also means I have just 8lbs to go to reach my holiday target of 17 stone 4lbs. This will take me to my half way point (my personal goal not my healthy BMI range) and will also mean I have caught up with mum. I just hope she is not offended by the fact I desperately want to catch her up. Not to gloat you understand but just to be at the same point as her for the first time in 11 years.

So my next mini goal is to lose 1lb as this will mean I have lost 30% of my body weight and then to get to 17 stone 7lbs so I have lost 8lbs and then hopefully 17 stone 4lbs for my holiday. Of course I'll keep you posted.

WI Result (17th May)

Another 1.5lbs lost this week. This now amounts to a grand total of 103lbs and I now weigh 18 stone 2lbs. That means this week I will be aiming high and trying to break into the 17s.

I am very happy with my result this week, especially when you consider I've had time of the month (TOTM) this week. I also now have 12lbs to go until my holiday target of 17 stone 4, half way through my weightloss part of the journey.

All of you can help with this

I have decided that as well as writing this blog of my weightwatcher journey, I am going to write a folder. This will be full of information about me, favourite receipes, the weightwatcher program (subject to copywright) and hints and tips plus loads more. Of course you can all help.

If you have any good success stories or any really good hints and tips or other useful information please send them to me and I'll include them in the folder. The email address is wwhintsandtips@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from lots of you.

My WI result (10th May 2007)

I weighed in at 18 stone 3.5lbs this week. That means a loss of 3.5lbs. I am very happy with this because I only needed 2lbs to have lost 100lbs. To have lost this much means so much to me and, although I am not quite half way, I feel amazing already. I have no idea how I will feel when I get to goal.

I was presented with my 100lb certificate in the first meeting. It was really actually very embarrassing as Marie spent most of the meeting talking about me and about tips etc. Luckily she was bored of me by the second meeting so I was able to help pack up and sneak off a few minutes early.

I now have 6 weeks to lose 13.5lbs to get to my holiday target. I will do all I can to get there as that would mean a lot to me if I could be the same as mum again. It has been a long time since I have been able to say that.

This week, I am simply aiming to lose the same as Tash (one of the other helpers) as she has set herself a challenge to lose more than me this week. I think she'll win as she had a big gain and I hope she does but, well it would not be fair on her if I didn't give her a challenge would it?

If the shirt fits....

Wear it. Well for the first time in 9 years I have been able to wear the red and white stripes of Southampton. This was a big NSV for me as I have not been able to get one to fit me. Mum has lent me hers and I told her that as we won today, she would not be getting it back until the next time we lose. I think she'll let me keep it lol.

Anyway, here I have enclosed a picture of me wearing it and also of mum and I in our silly wigs that they were giving away at football. Look totally stupid but it had to be done. If you look further down my blog you will find some pictures taken 7 stone ago. I am sure you will agree the difference is amazing.

We're in the play offs

Absolutely brilliant game today. It was what football is all about.

As some of you may know we had our tribute to Alan Ball this week. We had a tribute on the big screen, then a minutes applause from everyone including his three kids, Lawrie McMenemy and Matt Le Tissier who were on the pitch and finally the stand opposite me held up pictures of him to form the tribute I have included in the pictures. Unfortunately, I could not get it all in one shot but trust me it looked amazing and the fans did us proud today.

As for the game itself. Basically we had to match or better Stokes result and if Preston won, we had to win to get into the play offs. We went 1-0 down much against the run of play but news came through that Stoke were losing 1-0 too. We soon equalised though and went in front not long into the second half. It was 2-1 when I heard Stoke had equalised and Preston had gone in front but the fans raised the roof and we scored 2-0 to win 4-1!!! As our announcer (Mike Osman) said, ALAN, THAT WAS FOR YOU.

I have added a few pictures. Some of them are from the Alan Ball tribute, some from the match. I hope you enjoy them.

Now we play Derby in the play off semi finals over two legs, our first leg is at home next Saturday and I am very much looking forward to it. I already have my ticket.

My WI result (3rd May 2008)

Another good weeks sees a 3lb loss this week. I am thrilled with this because it takes me to 98lbs and just 2lb away from the exclusive 100lb club. Not only that, it means I have done a total of 7 stone!!! How brilliant is that eh? It also means I have 17lb to go to catch up with mum and reach my holiday target. I have 7 more WI's to get to that but if I can continue to do everything by the book, I'm hoping I can do it!!!

Well it was weird getting to meeting tonight and feeling like the new girl. As you will know, if you read my recent blogging I started as a helper at my meeting tonight. I was supposed to be meeter and greeter for new members but they were short staffed and so I ended up weighing which was a great experience and was interesting to see how other people reacted to their results. I hope I didn't make any mistakes and I am looking forward to going back again next week when hopefully I will not be as nervous.

So my challenge for this week, well it has to be the big one doesn't it? I have to go for that 100lb!!! As the talk this week was on walking and walking challenges I am going to walk home from work one night next week (probably Tuesday) and see if I can do it. I have done as far recently but I've not walked all the way home from work since August 2003 so what a NSV that will be!!!

Becoming a helper...

From my next WI this Thursday, I'll be a helper at my meeting. I am really looking forward to this. A couple of weeks ago I showed Marie (my leader) a picture of me taken on holiday last year. (I've included it here even though you will have seen it before if you have been following my blog). She said it would make a good "before" picture if I wanted to become a leader.

I admitted to Marie that one day I would like to become a leader as I see this as my way to keep at goal. I've proved in the past that whilst I have never got to goal before, I can lose the weight it I work at it. However, I'm hopeless at keeping it off and I think being a leader would help me with this. On top of that, if I could help even just one person lose weight then I would be very happy. If course I would hope to help many more than this.

As a result of this, Marie suggested I come a helper to learn it all. The problem I had was I did not know if my boss would let me finish early on a Thursday to do this. I was surprised when he said yes. So from this week, I'll be the new member meeter and greeter, although Marie did say she would show me everything over time.

I'm very much looking forward to this as not only is it a "foot in the door" but it is also a chance to give something back to Weightwatchers who have given me my life back. That is a life I'm planning to make the most out of.

p.s. The other picture was taken of my about 10lb ago at Easter. What a difference eh?

Another month over...

And what a good month it was for many reasons. It was nice to see my family at Easter. The weather has been lovely and I finally feel that my life is under control again.

As a recap then I set myself 3 resolutions/main aims for 2007. They were:

1. To give up smoking.
2. Get fit.
3. Carry on losing weight and eating healthily.

So far so good! My last cigarette was the 3rd January. I thought giving up smoking would be harder than it actually was. I'm not say it was easy but it was nowhere near as bad as I expected it to be. After the first week or so I've not actually wanted one. If anything, I think I am becoming one of those anti ex smokers and I cannot wait for the smoking ban to come in on 1st July so I can stand on in the concourse at football and not stink of smoke.

I started walking before Christmas which was a big "step" and NSV (non scale victory) for me as I could barely walk 200 yards without it hurting before I joined weight-watchers. On the 1st February a friend and I started to go to Aqua Aerobics and on the 11th March I joined a gym. I now do aqua on a Wednesday, go to the gym three times a week and also go swimming twice a week which is good for toning if not for weightloss. I'm also trying to find the courage to go to Pilates on a Sunday evening but have to confess to being a bit scared of being able to do it because of my size.

This month I have lost 11lbs. I think the key to this was tracking, clawing back the points from Easter Sunday blowout and exercise. Last weekend I walked miles and I've just discovered I can run. Don't get me wrong, I cannot run far but surely this can only aid my weightloss.

My aims for May are to get my 100lb certificate and get under 18 stone. The last time I was 17 stone anything was August or September 1998 and then I gave up so once I get past here, I'll really be getting somewhere. Nothing is going to stop me this time.
