And what a good month it was for many reasons. It was nice to see my family at Easter. The weather has been lovely and I
finally feel that my life is under control again.
As a recap then I set myself 3 resolutions/main aims for 2007. They were:
1. To give up smoking.
2. Get fit.
3. Carry on losing weight and eating healthily.
So far so good! My last cigarette was the 3rd
January. I thought giving up smoking would be harder than it actually was. I'm not say it was easy but it was nowhere near as bad as I expected it to be. After the first week or so I've not actually wanted one. If anything, I think I am becoming one of those anti ex smokers and I cannot wait for the smoking ban to come in on 1st July so I can stand on in the
concourse at football and not stink of smoke.
I started walking before Christmas which was a big "step" and
NSV (non scale victory) for me as I could barely walk 200 yards without it hurting before I joined weight-watchers. On the 1st February a friend and I started to go to Aqua Aerobics and on the 11
th March I joined a gym. I now do aqua on a Wednesday, go to the gym three times a week and also go swimming twice a week which is good for toning if not for
weightloss. I'm also trying to find the courage to go to
Pilates on a Sunday evening but have to confess to being a bit scared of being able to do it because of my size.
This month I have lost 11lbs. I think the key to this was tracking, clawing back the points from Easter Sunday blowout and exercise. Last weekend I walked miles and I've just discovered I can run. Don't get me wrong, I cannot run far but surely this can only aid my
weightloss.
My aims for May are to get my 100lb certificate and get under 18 stone. The last time I was 17 stone anything was August or September 1998 and then I gave up so once I get past here, I'll really be getting somewhere. Nothing is going to stop me this time.
